This device has been developed at the request of a renown Moscow-based dealer of the «Daimler-Chrysler» company to be installed in a high-end car salon. The simulator demonstrates the necessity of using sea belts. The simulator gondola design features the latest «Daimler-Chrysler» achievements in the passive security means. Regular seats with Mercedes seat belts of E-class are used in the gondola. The configuration of torpedo, the central tunnel salon floor and thresholds also reproduce the salon of Å class. The operating principle is very simple. A passenger takes one of the simulator seats and is secured with safety belts. An unfastened dummy is in the other seat. By means of an electric drive, the gondola is lifted to the height of 3-4 m and rolls down the inclined rails downward. At the bottom of the track the gondola is slowed down by a failsafe permanent-magnet brake. Braking acceleration is 1G. The passenger, who is fastened with a belt, feels just a slight apprehension due to precipitous fall and instantaneous smooth coming to standstill, while the unfastened dummy is flown out of the seat at a speed of 40 km/h onto a mat. If there had been a real person in his place, he would have certainly been badly injured. This is a very effective demonstration of the “feel the difference” principle. The shown model was developed in line with a number of the specific customer’s requirements. Its configuration, design, operation procedure, and dimensions may be adapted to your requirements. |
