Container shipment is a quick and reliable method of goods delivery from the supplier’s warehouse to the buyer’s doorstep, without extra transshipments en route, which ensures total security of transported goods. Container deliveries make it possible to considerably reduce transportation expenses and time of the cargo delivery. They are carried out by various types of vehicles by means of removable devices, namely containers. Containers are designed to carry any loads, which have been accepted for transportation under applicable regulations. |

A container is a standard enclosure, which is used to ship goods without crates by various types of vehicles. It is a removable part (body) of transportation means (cars, wagons, ships, aircraft, etc.), which is adapted for mechanized loading, unloading and reloading from one vehicle to another. Containers may be of different capacity (weight-lifting). Dimensions and capacity of containers are in line with the weight-lifting capacity and overall dimensions of vehicles.
Regarding their tasks, containers can be subdivided into:
1. All-purpose containers
2. Specialized containers
3. Special containers All-purpose containers can be used to transport any goods in any packaging;
Specialized containers can be used to transport single, bulk or liquid goods (e.g, building materials, chemicals, foodstuffs, and others.);
Special containers can only be used to transport a certain cargo, which is transported under special conditions. |
